Banana Fritters

Banana Fritters or “Maruya” in Tagalog, is one of Filipino’s favorite snacks. It a sugar drenched banana either being served on a plate or placed in a bamboo stick.

Directions:

In a bowl, filter the flour, baking powder and salt altogether

Add milk and egg then beat until smooth

Heat the vegetable oil using a frying pan or a large saucepan over medium heat

In batches, roll the banana in flour and then dip in batter

Fry in hot vegetable oil until it turns golden brown, afterwards drain

Roll in sugar

Place in a serving dish or stick it in bamboo sticks

Ingredients

  • 5-6 Ripe Banana Plantain
  • 2 cups of vegetable oil
  • 1 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • ½ cup of flour
  • ¾ tsp. of baking powder
  • ¼ tsp. of salt
  • Sugar
  • ¾ tsp. of baking powder
  • Bamboo Sticks (Optional)
