Filipino Chicken Curry

This curry recipe is one of the favorite Filipino chicken recipes. They said that when they start eating this chicken curry, they feel a little burning sensation in their mouth and wow really spicy delicious.


In a pan, fry the chicken pieces until the color turns to brown a little

Add the garlic and onion

Sauté for a few minutes until soft

Pour in the fish sauce and season with the curry powder, salt and pepper

Stir for about 2 minutes

Add the water, cover and bring to boil

Reduce the heat, add the celery, bell pepper and fried potatoes

Simmer for 2-3 minutes or until half done

Add the coconut milk and stir occasionally

Cook for another 6-7 minutes

Remove from heat, put in a serving dish and serve while still hot


  • 1 lb. of chicken cut into serving pieces
  • 3 tbsp. of oil
  • 5 potatoes, peeled, quartered and fried
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp. of curry powder
  • 3 celery stalks cut into 1” long
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 1 tbsp. of fish sauce
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 red bell pepper cut into squares
  • 1 green bell pepper cut into squares
  • 1 cup of coconut milk
